Things I outsource

Things I outsource

Three common challenges that churches face are 1) money 2) time and 3) talent.  I have found outsourcing to go a long way in managing these thee challenges. Below are the things I currently am outsourcing. All of which save us money, time or add talent.

Graphics: Last year I changed from having a FT communications admin to having this outsourced. We went with designpickle.com. The cost me $349 per month for unlimited graphics. This is like having a FT person for a fraction of the cost. And they only hire expert graphic artists. So what we get is super professional.

Worship Leaders: Currently I am under contract with GuestWorship.com. And I love it! They provide me with worship leaders/coaches each week to 1) plan the set 2) chart the music 3) organize our band and 4) lead Sunday worship. Everyone they send me A+ talented leaders…and I pay a fraction of the cost that I would pay for a FT leader of the same caliber. I pay them $750 a week for this service.

Instrumentalists: I bring in professional instrumentalists to supplement our church volunteers (which are also super talented). This doesn’t save me money in the budget but it does add a significant degree of talent.

Accounting: Two years ago I moved from having a FT accountant and outsourced this task to belay accounting (belaysolutions.com). And our accounting is pretty complicated ($2.5M total budgets and preschool billing). It was a move that saved me about $35,000 per year. And now I have access to the nation’s top accountants. Our designated account lives in South Carolina and works for me FT. He also has other clients.

Facilities: Two years ago I moved from having a FT facilities person to 100% outsourcing through various contractors on an as-needed basis. I subsequently hired an additional FT maintenance person, bringing our total to 4. It is a wash in the budget however the cleanliness and the maintenance of the building has escalated a great degree.
